The TiddlyWiki project is part of a larger UnaMesa effort to improve the interoperability of digital records, especially educational materials.

TiddlyWiki itself is a unique piece of software that provides a complete, editable web document without the need for a network connection. This means that students can access educational materials "on the web" and record their own notes even if they do not have a live network connection. For example in unwired classrooms, at home, or remote villages.

We have also demonstrated how to incorporate materials from several sites, such as Wikipedia, SocialText, and others, into a single file that can be easily shared, edited, and updated. This creates a much more dynamic learning experience and reduces most if not all technology barriers to sharing information.

Note that the original TiddlyWiki code was developed by Jeremy Ruston of Osmosoft and contributed to the UnaMesa Association to be held in trust for the public benefit prior to the acquisition of Osmosoft by BT. Jeremy and BT continue to be active members of the community and we gratefully acknowledge their ongoing contributions.
